What Is MICR Toner?
Magnetic Ink Character Recognition, known as MICR, is a type of toner that is used when printing checks. The account and routing numbers, along with check number, at the bottom of the check are printed using this special ink that allows the bank machine readers to read the check numbers correctly .
Do I need MICR toner to print checks?
MICR is required by the Federal Reserve
If you print the routing and account numbers on bottom of checks with your own printer. a MICR toner is required
if NON micr toner is used it may result in manual entry at the bank and processing fees for you.
